    Rotting Paradise Overview
You know what?  I hate talking about real life.  I get enough of it as it is.  So, let's move on to more important matters.  The creation of my story's (currently under the working title of 'Rotting Paradise') world!

How the World Came to Be

In ages long past, mortals lived in the higher world with the gods and the angels.  However, as the higher beings were more powerful, and above all immortal, the mortals found themselves with far less than their neighbours.  They were shoved off to the side, and lived in the world very poorly, for they needed sustanance to live on, but the immortals needed no such thing.  All that they needed had to be created on their own, but their magic was weak and feeble, they could not live with what little they could produce.  However, the gods were not without pity, and so they set about creating a world where the mortals could live and prosper.  They filled this world with all things mortals needed: air, food, water, materials with which they could build and shape their world in accordance to their desires.  And so it became, and the mortals left the heavens to live on the earth.  It was their paradise.

    But All Was Not Well

For a great time the two worlds lay seperate, content with what they had.  Then, without warning, war broke out into the heavens.  The angels were divided, some sided with the gods, but others wanted to form a world of their own.  The angels who had not the power to become gods felt great discord with the rest of heaven, and created this war when they were denied a new world, for they did not need it as the mortals did.  And so, as they found themselves vastly overpowered in the higher world, they turned to the mortal world, spreading plague and hatred on that world to spite the mortals.  The paradise was no longer such, and the fell angels became a darkness which filled the earth and twisted its creatures into spectres and fiends.  The world was rotting away.

    Yet We Still Have Hope

Despite the time that had passed since the new world was created, humans had not forgotten all that had been in the higher world.  The power they had once used to supply themselves lay without use, until the fallen came.  Now they channelled this power to hold back the dark beasts that plagued them.  Yet still their magic was lesser, and they were slowly losing, until the true angels came to their aid.  They spread blessings of power upon the mortals, and became their protectors until the mortals could shape this power into a defense of their own.  They could slowly, but surely, beat back the evil that the fell angels had brought upon them.

    But It's Not Over Yet

And now the angels have all but left the world, visiting on occasion to bless the good and to smite some of the world's evils.  The gods have even less to do with the world, for they would not rule a world they made for mortals.  It is they who must do it.  And they are, for the blessed have made themselves to be exorcists, who use the holy gifts within them to destroy the dark beings, and those who have no gifts may combat the beasts with steel, or spread cheer to the people by becoming Angeli, the wandering hope.  And so, now, this is what they have become.  And with their methods, they will try their best to free their world from the malice of the angels and restore the paradise that it once was.

    Eh.  I'm working on it.
